Great little dim sum spot. Good spot to go with others and share a variety of plates. The service was great and everyone was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered great suggestions. Nice decor. Great spot to check out with family or friends. I came for the soup dumplings and they did not disappoint.

I am not a big fan of Chinese cuisine because they are normally very oily but I do love Sichuan mala fish and crispy beef and of course the dumplings. This was my first time at dim sum box. I so badly wanted to give them 5 stars! The place was nice and clean. They were quick and friendly. We had some tea and cold drinks. I have never had any restaurant serve me tea with the tea bag in a dirty cup, not at least Asian restaurants! We did order chive beef dumplings which was good, the soup dumplings were good too! we got some crispy pork which was delicious and our favorite. Also got bao buns which we didn't like it, kinda tasted like it was old leftovers. The soup dumpling we ordered and had high expectations was very disappointing for couple reasons firstly that soup dumpling one small piece is $7.99 I thought it might be something big, cuz I couldn't believe they priced a single dumpling for $8 and the fact the taste was okay nothing waow. I also ordered the Persian cucumber salad, I thought I saw peanuts or something in the salad in the picture but when it came it's was just plain cucumber dipped in some soy sauce? The overall experience was mix! We will definitely give another try! Thank you!

Cute small dim sum spot in Katy! The prices are a bit higher than Bellaire prices so expect to splurge here! The ordering system is like usual dim sum spots. After being seated they give you the menus and a order sheet. Then they bring out all of the food. You pay at the counter at the end. The siu mai (shao mai) was the best I've had in Houston. You can tell they are hand made and not frozen bought! So juicy and flavorful. They're also pretty big in size too! The pork soup dumplings were okay. I wasn't a fan of the vinegar sauce. I do like how they're small and easy to eat! The special fried rice was very good! There's Chinese bbq, fresh shrimp, and egg. I love how it came out in a shape of a heart! The rice rolls were good. I wish there were more shrimps in every bite. LAVA BUNS!! - best lava buns in Houston. You really do get the lava out of the buns. Perfect ratio of sweet and salty with a crispy outside layer. I would be careful eating these as it is full of lava custard inside! The har gow were good too! I love how Dim Sum Box uses fresh jumbo shrimp as an ingredient. It makes sense why they're pricier than Bellaire spots. *Not pictured* The fried turnip cake was SO GOOD. This is my favorite dish. The ingredients are fresh and the cakes are thick! I was so exited to eat it i forgot about taking a photo.

Most things that we tried were good! Pricey though. I personally would go elsewhere to get my dim sum, but it was still great to try. Something unique that they have are these mushroom fries - they're pretty good! I'd recommend at least trying them, as dim sum can get a bit repetitive once you know what you like. I'd also highly rec the baked snowy pork buns! Very yummy! One impressive fact about DSB is that they make their own chili oil in house! They said they make it weekly, which is really cool because most places just have their chili oil sitting there forever. The only thing that everyone at my table did not like is their xiao long bao. It's small, not that flavorful, and doesn't have that much soup. For what it's priced at, it is definitely not worth. They do have happy hour where certain menu items are discounted. Unfortunately I don't quite remember the hours eligible.

Visited: Dec. 2022 I tried this place out for the first time. It's owned by the same person who owns Fung's Kitchen. The dim sum menu was shorter than their usual restaurant one. The food did take a while to come out but the dishes came out piping hot and fresh. I was curious about the Lava Buns since I had never tried it from the restaurant style and I actually liked it. There were plenty of filling and the salted egg yolk part was tasty. The shrimp rice noodle wrap was my absolute fav because the rice noodle was smooth, bouncy and not too soggy. In addition, the shrimp was just perfect. The chicken feet was okay. The black bean sauce didn't get soaked enough within the chicken feet. The xiao mai was juicy and meaty. The table was dirty before I sat down at it. Are they not cleaned right after each customer?
